1.4462 / DIN X2CrNiMoN22-5-3 – AISI 318LN – UNS S31803 – UNS S32205
1.4462 belongs to duplex stainless steel family. This steel is characterized by its combination of austenitic grade approximately 150% higher than 1.4404 austenitic grades and excellent corrosion resistance comparable to 1.4404.
The use of duplex stainless steels, especially 1.4462, is gaining popularity due to its unique combination of excellent corrosion resistance, resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and high tensile and yield strengths. As a result of its high strength, this steel is ideal for the construction industry. The relatively lower nickel content compared to conventional austenitic grades makes 1.4462 an economically interesting alternative.
Application areas of 1.4462 duplex stainless; construction industry, chemical industry, petrochemical industry, electronic equipment, food and beverage industries, mechanical engineering, off-shore structures and shipbuilding.
