1.4306 / DIN X2CrNi19-11 – AISI 304L – UNS S30403
1.4306 is actually a higher alloy version of 1.4307. 1.4306 is more corrosion resistant than 1.4307, due to the slightly higher chromium and especially the higher nickel content.
Despite its improved corrosion resistance, it finds itself in a dwindling market for 1.4306 profiles. Most customers use 1.4307 or 1.4404 when improved corrosion resistance is required. Mechanical properties are poor, malleability is very good, weldability is excellent, machinability is poor.
Uses are Automotive industry, chemical industry, food and beverage industry, mechanical engineering, decoration products and kitchenware, electronic equipment, Petrochemical industry, especially in terms of nitric acid production and storage.
