1.4057 / DIN X17CrNi16-2 – AISI 431– UNS S43100

This material, which has a very good corrosion resistance, is similar to AISI 304 quality stainless material in terms of corrosion resistance.
1.4057 / DIN X17CrNi16-2 / AISI 431, which has very strong mechanical properties, has a very high mechanical resistance since it is pre-hardened by heat treatment.
It is not recommended to form this material by forging, but it can be forged when necessary.
1.4057 / DIN X17CrNi16-2 / AISI 431, with average weldability, can be used even in an environment with intensive welding. The most important point during the welding of this material is what kind of material the other surface to be welded is. For example, when it is to be combined with AISI 431 and 304 quality stainless welding, it is necessary to be more careful and careful.
Since 1.4057 / DIN X17CrNi16-2 / AISI 431 material is pre-hardened and has a hard surface (between 30 - 35HRC), its machinability is a bit more difficult than other materials. When processed with the right processing inserts, there is no problem regarding processing.
It is used in bolt and nut making, propeller shafts, pump shafts, mixer rods, marine equipment and laboratory equipment.
The hot forming temperature is 1100-800 ºC. It should be cooled slowly.
